Abram, or Abraham(?) has just been introduced, which feels good, it’s feels very foundational and familiar. We’re approaching the story of Sodom and Gomorra I’m sure. Lot = Abraham’s nephew. I’m not too sure why Abraham is singled out as the special one who is so in contact with the Lord, but he sees him often. He built a few altars to him, while hopping through the Middle East with his wife, Sarai.

I liked Chapter 9, which detailed the covenant with Noah. It’s a nice moment between man and God, and it’s a standout story from this text. Past that, there’s been listing of family lineage and who ends up as their descendants in the world. Some of the footnotes suggest much of it cannot be accurate, for several reasons, so I struggle to decide what the truth is. Ex: The tower of Babel? That’s not real?

Not much to say. Genesis is pretty self-explanatory though there are some passages that aren’t explained at all. The nephilim? The mark of Cain? The depiction of God as an authoritative but unaware creator?
