Pi goes blind, and I am almost positive that Pi was talking to Richard Parker who has apparently a French accent. I am fuzzy on this part because it was hard to understand for me. Pi is talking to another blind man who has no food or water. They are both stranded at sea with Richard Parker and blind. I feel like eventually this will be too much and they will die.

This book was truly remarkable. At the end it was extremely hard to put down, especially with the telling of another story, which has plot twists galore.

The story Pi is retelling at this moment is extremely interesting and much more believable than the story he spent 350 pages telling. It resulted in a huge plot twist, and for the moment, I'm not sure whether they will believe Pi or not.

Mr. Okamoto and Mr. Chiba, men from the maritime department in the Japanese ministry of transport, come down to Mexico to question Pi and discover where the tsmitsum sunk. In my opinion, there were times when the men were extremely rude talking in Japanese behind Pi's back. What also got on my nerves was how they hated sparing food to a boy who was stranded at sea for months.

Pi ends up finding other people on an island. They take him back to there village where they care for him. He also loses Richard Parker, forever. I thought that this was a sad yet happy moment in the book. Pi has been saved, he has people of his own to talk to, however, he lost his companion of a long time, Richard Parker. They had grown such a strong bond, and now they go there separate ways.

I was able to get a really good image of the island during these last pages. I figured out that it is approximately 20 miles in circumference, and about six or seven miles in diameter. The island is filled with algae and green luscious trees, with no native organisms on it, besides the meerkats. I found it great how Richard had become so attached to Pi that he would come back to the life boat every single night!

PI goes to explore the Island, but only after Richard Parker starts charging at him and Pi blows the whistle. Richard stops, and then runs into the ocean. This was very peculiar, and interesting. These last 10 pages were not fairly interesting.

Pi and the man start to embrace. It was a sweet moment in my opinion, seeing Pi, embrace with another blind man who he had just met. The sad part is that Richard Parker had to kill this man. Pi is all alone now. Pi realizes that the man had lied to him, he had food and water. Pi eventually gained his sight back after two days of rinsing his eyes with sea water. Pi and Richard Parker find land, glueing me to the book.

Pi and Richard Parker face near death as the boat confronts swells. The swells eventually soak the boat and take out the anchors. Pi must save himself and Richard Parker by unrolling the tarpaulin and hooking it to the boat itself. They make it out alive after encountering many soakings. Pi later tells us about whales, dolphins, and an albatross he meets along the way. They're see an oil boat and send a note.

Pi is starting to fill up pages with pointless information, which makes me want to put the book down. Pi informs us of his encounters with small sharks, as well as Richard Parker's. However, one somewhat interesting part was when Pi told me about the experience he had with a Dorado and how that basically clarified that he was the alpha, the superior.

This section is mainly about Pi's time with Richard Parker. He ends up somewhat taming him, and I found it amazing as to the analysis and effort Pi put into taming Richard Parker at such a young age, when people older than him probably could not tame a tiger. There was one interesting part, when Pi talks about attempting to eat Richard's feces. This was disgusting and just awful to read. I am scarred, too much detail
