It's a gory scene, having people massacred in the midst of a soccer game where they are viewed by the public eye. It's sad thinking about all of the things that can have possibly happen to Sohrab while he's with this man, if this man is willing to kill someone with rocks in a soccer game, imagine the things that he can so to Sohrab. Having come home to a broken city, broken childhood.

Amir wants to end this cycle, he wants to speak what's boiling inside. It's tough for him because of the way he will be viewed but he cannot just go on with this secret. "A way to end the cycle" (Hosseini 227), it's what he has to do.
