The unintentional comedy of Melville writing a chapter where he explains(poorly) why Whales will never be hunted to extinction....Loved the chapter on the Swiss-Army-Knife genius of the Carpenter.

Getting less frustrating. Just finished the section where Ahab converses with the English whaler. Really enjoyed that section, and the underlying comparisons to the American and British empires.
