This has been on my reading pile for years, but after finding his At Swim-Two-Boids only fair, at best, I'd probably have never got around to reading it if it hadn't been recommended by the ABC's (i.e. the Australian government funded TV network) Book Club show. It's great.
I can't read it without hearing it in an Irish accent.
Is that inherent in the style, or just because I know the author was Irish?
