Hagrid took up two seats and sat knitting what looked like a canary-yellow circus tent.
How could I forget this??? The imagery of Hagrid knitting while traveling by train should have made enough of an impression to stick in my brain, but clearly it did not.

"So light a fire!" Harry choked.
"Yes - of course - but there's no wood!" Hermione cried, wringing her hands.
"HAVE YOU GONE MAD?" Ron bellowed. "ARE YOU A WITCH OR NOT?"

The tub was full of what looked like dirty rags swimming in gray water.
"What's this?" he asked Aunt Petunia. [...]
"Your new school uniform," she said.
Harry looked in the bowl again.
"Oh," he said, "I didn't realize it had to be so wet."
😂 I didn't remember that Harry's sass started so early in the series.

"It's the best place for him," said Dumbledore firmly.

I decided that 2020 is the year of my much overdue Harry Potter reread. My goal is to complete one book every month or so - with the later books probably needing more of the "or so" time. 😅
Since it's been so long since my last reading and I have a terrible memory, it may seem as if I've never read these before, but I'm likely just noticing something that everyone else has known for 20+ years. 😄
