I think the author is a spiritual writer. She is listed a travel writer. I have no problem with that duality.You travel to diverse places around the globe. Her finesse with descriptions is elegant and effective. You go from from deep inside a pyramid , to deep in jungle and then to small town nursing home. You are there WITH her, shoulder to shoulder as witty little side comments to bring a smile and wink.
