just a personal note - i'll be skimming from now on, and i swear this is the last book i request on netgalley at least for a while. i'm not good at guessing how good a book is gonna be

WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM. bitch stop SAYING you did something "awful" and then not saying exactly what it was!!!!!!! its okay the first couple times but its just unacceptable now like what the Hell am i even reading about??? nothings happening come On

my forensics lecture is putting me to sleep so i pulled up this disappointingly boring book where nothing happens to read while im bored anyway

i feel sad and let down by this so far bc i thought it'd be perfect, but it's a bit too plain (and slow!!!!!!!!) for now

so here's the deal: i grew up on tolstoy and dostoyevsky's self-righteousness and i would anyday reread their ramblings on morality, politics and other vague shit randomly inserted into the narrative. i eat that shit up like crazy, i love it. but the thing is, those guys knew their smooth transitions, and they rarely delivered such thoughts via character monologue. that've been too random & out of place. like here.

all this talk of war and resistance and other sorts of action, but the actual something is yet to happen. this started off so strong, and while i still admit i care for the romance, it's getting harder to care for the story overall. also there's lots of info delivered in form of monologue and ugh yk how annoying that is

she finds out a mysterious woman had stolen and broken his heart......who is she.....(it is you, you fool. it is you i can see it why can't you) like come On. where's action i've struggled enough

this is bad politics written well. for a while i've been following a seemingly interesting development and now it looks like it was going nowhere? this is Confusing. Why

pretty slow, but i still enjoy it, although there's a lot of romance here

a book...making me care about romance....this early on...unheard of and therefore absolutely amazing
