I am surprised by how predictable this is... That's probably the biggest surprise in my reading experience.
"I think fate will make this happen"--and then it happens.
I just have the epilogue left to read. Just about 100 pages more.

Well, some interesting stuff happened...and now I am reading about troop movements. I should explain. I am not a fan of reading about troop movements.

This section is making me feel like a slow reader and BE a slow reader.
I probably sighed with relief every time Marya, Andrei, or Pierre appeared.
The "war," Napoleon, and essay-ish sections aren't exactly conducive to speedy reading.
In general, this novel makes me feel like a slow reader. Also, usually by page 800, I feel like I've acomplished a lot. With W&P, I have only just passed the halfway point.

Given that the two previous pages discuss 666, it was funny to find myself on this page. A coincidence or a printing joke?
"...the sum of the figures equals 666 and that Napoleon is therefore that beast prophesied in the Apocalypse" (665). Quoted in case you didn't believe me.

Must read a lot more before tomorrow's class. Some parts are much more interesting than other parts. Of course, that statement is so general, it could apply to any work of literature...
