Hmmm I like that this is moving faster than Spinning Silk... funny the Nobu brother part was shown but not the two soldiers... loved Sato taking out Nobu with her spider warriors... and I liked that Shin fought to tell Furu the truth...

The mill part passes quickly... it didn’t mention him being dragged away but that he was sent away... it felt awkward to me... I guess because it didn’t feel like those spots jived... and is the queen the old lady in human form... I’m iffy on that as well. Shin sure has a ton of warring loyalties... shocking he had anything left over to fall in love.

Wow!! Now we’ve transitioned to the part of the story we know... it’s moving quicker which is nice but it’s fun to read his POV with its morally grey reasoning ... that he needs to convince Yumi to be loyal to him.

The first part when he’s in the shogun’s army is done... the doctor was fascinating and how he taught Shin about medicine and helped him accept his own nature! The uncle provided a bloodless war... with a lot less care for Shin...
