I can't do anything but laugh at this utterly contrived relationship conflict. It's worse than high school and makes no sense. I am honestly just baffled at what's happening right now. How did I like this when I was 11?

And because we need to beat this metaphor of sins into the ground, the pair representing pride/levity just happened to find a JOKE BOOK in the woods--in this medieval setting, mind you. (And there was a simile involving a treadmill earlier in the book. Did this author think at all while she was writing?) How much more contrived can we get?

I know, I'm avoiding Way of Kings at this point, but I wanted to see if this book is as good as I remember and oh boy it is NOT. This was one of the books my 6th grade teacher read to us and made us love, no matter what genre or quality. This is so bad an unintentionally erotic ("Colin tethered Black Prince and went inside") ("...blue as sapphires glittering in the sun, eyes so penetrating...") I can't wait.
