Biter, cruel, cunning, self-interest rich, politics which we all know but cannot help doing anything about. The picture Mr Rao gives is one of a very gloomy and tough struggle of an individual who wants to do his duty navigating through malice, prejudice and misinterpretations - all that current day politics stands for.

I loved the comment made by the poor bullock cartman about the money collected from him towards the birthday celebrations of the Chief Minister. "We have a new tribe of kings to loot us these days. If this is what we get, why not have the old king back, who was at least rich himself and didn't have to collect twenty rupees from poor farmers?'

The beginnings of Anand's journey are exciting and relatable having experienced several such incidents in childhood. The politics part of his narration is getting interesting when I sit to compare the real people who are represented by the characters in the story.
