There are similarities between Fahrenheit 451 and this novel, but mostly they are different. In both novels, the main characters are struggling to survive in society and faces a difficult task in doing so. Society mistreats them and they must change in order for survival. Differences however, are this novel takes place at a modern or historical time period whereas Fahrenheit 451 takes place in a distant future.

If I can step into the book, the first thing I do is to think of a plan to stabilize in the harsh conditions. I must learn how to survive on my own and not rely on stealing for food. I must be cautious with my every move. I definitely would not take the risk to encounter Geraint unless I have confidence that my move would succeed.

I feel that the personality of the main character is somewhat similar to me. Whenever I feel injustice, I would want to fight for justice too. If someone takes out my I, I would want to take out his, just like what the main character does.

The main character, Willo, has no power to change his current situation. His family doesn't have a license to sell the animal fur they hunt down. Therefore, they require a buyer, Geriant, to secretly make deals with them. These deals are all rip offs but his dad, Robin, cannot do anything about it.

After the Snow is about a boy that lives in a very very cold environment, perhaps a new ice age. Losing his mother when he was young, Willo faces hardships living through the winter. Soon, everyone close to him are also gone. Lost in the desert of snow, Willo must use his hunting skills for survival. The most likely theme of this novel is to stay strong and embrace hardships throughout your life.
