Ridley added a status update
How exciting! Headcase author James Austen sent me a nasty PM calling me a twat and is now harassing me on Twitter. Color me amused.

Dea I had to break my Twitter fast to see this. Classy guy.

message 2: by Aleksandr (new)

Aleksandr Voinov I saw you trolled and friended you. Stay strong. He's a charming young man, no doubt.

message 3: by Ridley (new)

Ridley He's kind of a boring troll, actually. It's hard to score points with someone who isn't quite all there. He has no argument for me to poke holes in for shits and giggles.

message 4: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Um, I hope you flagged the PM and reported him to GR. And, yay? You get to join me in the "Authors Called Me Names on Twitter" club.

message 5: by Shannon (new)

Shannon What the fuckety fuck. His twitter is insane. I love how he's telling Jane she isn't a lawyer. Oh man, oh man. Ridley, this is delicious.

message 6: by Shannon (new)

Shannon So what prompted this? I haven't blocked him because I want to see if he'll send me a PM as well. I want to flag something so bad.

I'm not sure what set him off. I assume it was him noticing his book tagged on my bratty-authors-to-avoid shelf, but I did that months ago. It was an interesting evening.

Shannon How incredibly random. I thought maybe something blew up on Amazon. How exactly are you ruining his career, by the way? I don't think he needs your help, he's doing a find job all by himself. Did you see his blog post about "bullies?" That reviewer he quotes isn't even that combative, let alone a "bully." But also, some of his blogs are really sad and disturbing.

Wonder what he'll think of my shelves.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

You know how ardently I admire and love you, but the idea that your bratty authors shelf could hurt someone's career is lol-worthy. Maybe he should check with EL James or Jennifer Weiner about the harm it's done them.

willaful Aww, his twitter is gone! I missed all the fun!

Looks like he's gone from here as well.

message 12: by Lucy (new)

Lucy I miss Everything. :( I'd offer sympathy, Ridley, but knowing you I don't think he got any hits in verbal or otherwise.

message 13: by Leah (new)

Leah Steele This guy is really an author? Of a book?! "As you reep so will you soe...?" His editor doesn't get paid enough, I guarantee.

message 14: by Shannon (new)

Shannon There's probably no point to this, but I still thought it was funny. The post about me went up on July 2nd, and here's the part I want to call attention to:

Then, there's this tweet from July 11th:

Um, if you're going to claim you had people talk to someone I've "bullied" you should probably give them a head's up.

Also, this:

Sorry, dude, hate to disappoint you but I don't use twitter, so you won't be able to call me a retard to my face.

message 15: by Ridley (new)

Ridley Wait, the woman behind that site is a liar who can't keep her story straight? SAY IT AIN'T SO!

message 16: by Shannon (new)

Shannon XD

I just couldn't keep it to myself. I love that the person she was trying to "help" ended up ruining her whole story. Ah well, them's the breaks.

Shannon I doubt it, but thanks for the info. He could have been talking about anything (the perceived slights against him didn't even originate with us) and I'm pretty sure he would have gone after Kat (who he thought was me) as soon as the site went live.

Either way, it seems this site has harmed HIM a lot more than it has us. Nothing like "helping" someone by airing out their dirty laundry for even more people to see. I think it would have been better for him if it had stayed buried, drudging it up seems to have upset him a great deal.

Even though he acts likes an asshole I would never have made a site to call attention to him. Even when he called Ridley a twat I kept the discussion between me and her and didn't post it to my feed. Nobody but us had his books on our shelves and my "review" of his book had one like. Definitely not the case now.

message 18: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Dhympna wrote: "Right. He is certainly very focussed on you and Ridley."

He didn't even know about me until he saw it on the site (he flounced off of here and never saw this update), which is why I think he would have gone after Kat as soon as he learned of it if that site had actually interviewed him.

message 19: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Eh, maybe.

message 20: by Shannon (new)

Shannon His on attack on Kat was very telling though. Ridley and I didn't post proof of his behavior back in March, I think we both kept it incredibly quiet. Now, even if people come here thinking we're jerks, the fact that he attacked Kat without provocation and called her a retard with his first tweet pretty much shows exactly what Ridley was dealing with.

Sandra What is wrong with these people? What speshul kind of kool-aid are they drinking?
