GAH. I really want to like this book - I loved the first one - but SO MUCH PLOT ARMOUR, I can't even. Like, why does Madame not just kill Gabriel, who is clearly superfluous to her brothel-running plans? Or even decide to pimp him, too? And how convenient is it that she wants to keep Rhine 'pristine', rather than make her sleep with clients? GAH.
