Why is this whole arcade section even here? It’s not necessary to describe them playing the games in minute detail. Yes it’s fun and cutesy but it doesn’t progress the plot which just came out of nowhere with the developer or the romance. This feels like a scene that was meant to go in the “I’m discovering if you like me” getting to know you phase. It feels a little out of place here.

This is still really cute. A little flawed, a little rushed in the romance department, but still cute.

It’s nice to see the man being the uncertain one in the relationship for once and is man enough to admit she was upset when she left him in the morning thinking it was a one-night stand. If the roles had been reversed the woman would have convinced herself he didn’t think it meant anything and conflict would ensue. Not here though - well done Lyla Sage!

All I’m going to say is that Lyla, you REALLY don’t need to say “when Boone said “stupid dog”, he really meant “this angel of a dog.” We get it. It makes us readers feel stupid. Or like you think we’re stupid. Other than that one line, I am really enjoying this book! can’t help but think Collins is being a bit immature walking out on her sister like that though. Open up to each other!!

I love the emotional moments of this book. They’re not cheesy, just unspoken acknowledgement of wanting to hold your ageing parents a bit tighter when they leave for a long trip or something.
