i'm not sure how i feel about haymitch's reaping — like i get that it's just tragic he wasn't even called and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it kind of just feels cheap, i guess?
then again, katniss volunteered, lucy gray was reaped, and so i guess haymitch is another example of the cruelty of the games.

i'm really sad about maysilee. i knew from the original trilogy she wasn't going to make it, but i'm so sad. i also really liked how haymitch gave silka some chocolate balls — first time i felt like this book/character wasn't a bit of a rehash of the thg and cf plots and katniss characterisation.
