This is our first read from the Oregon Battle of the Books list for the 2016 season. So far this book is a ton of fun and also features some mature elements. The writing is sharp with strong images and easy-to-picture action scenes.

This is definitely a gripping tale. Pretty sure I'll end up finishing today.

So far so cool. This one has been hilarious as well.

This book is the bees knees so far.

That first jump in story threads threw me off a bit, but the story came back on track nicely. And the time jumps are fascinating.

Really digging this so far.

I must be a glutton for punishment. I just finished a book that I read simply because it was a digital library loan that I waited forever to land. And it was a slog. I have the same situation with The Bone Clocks, but I can tell after just a few pages that this will be a much different book. This better be good, or I will set it aside. Too many good horror novels stacking up to slog again.

This is a frustrating book, but I have experienced brief moments of caring here and there.

This book is as plot-driven as a grocery list. I swear, every time I get interested there is an immediate spiral down into character rumination on talent, especially early talent and how it interacts with fate. And still only 70%!

Maybe I'm just not in the mood, but this is getting tedious. It's like Kurt Vonnegut said, the key to writing is knowing what parts are interesting. There's flashes here, but there's too much in between. Funny considering the title.

So far this book is about people that thought they were interesting as teenagers but then turned out to be pretty boring. Excitement to come?

This was on my hold list for a digital loan for so long I can't quite recall why I added it in the first place. Fairly interesting beginning, so I will give it a shot.

This is one of the few King books I have only read once, and I haven't read this in 15-20 years.

This story just jumped from cliched to quite interesting. Hope it keeps up...

Very twilight zone feel to some of these horrific little nuggets.

This book has been excellent so far. Awesome character development, descriptive writing that flows with not distractions, and awesome science. The science is explained in subtle ways that are easy to grasp and imagined further than I would think possible. Loving this and wishing I had more time to read this week.

Ingenious! Haha, Literary Sweets was the proper way to start off a collection.

So far the writing is tight and the science highly intriguing.

And now we're down to the nitty-gritty.

I'm loving this ever-deepening mythology.
