Well, it took me awhile to really get started, but that was my fault. Got a little busy and had an Evil Dead binge. So far The Border is definitely not what I expected, and I'm loving it.

The One Night of the Year was a nice story of an annual haunting. I really like how this echoes the them of other stories in this collection concerning loss of family and/or loss of traditions after kids have moved on from their parents. I think the non-supernatural events in this one (which is possible all events) are the scariest part.

Tommy Rotten - a cool little Halloween ditty. Not quite as intense as some of the others in this collection.

Just finished Dia De Los Muertos. Nice story of a certain genre that I usually don't seek out. However, this was nicely done with plenty of horror, gore, and righteousness. Nice tie in throughout and at the end to the Day of the Dead.

Candie Apple was a deeply disturbing and hardcore Halloween story urban legend style. Amazing how much was packed into so few pages. Well done!

The first story, Halloweekend, was a blast. This was a sweet mashup of ghost story, hauntings, possessions, and bedeviled circuitry all resplendent in gore. Loved the references to other authors and the the references to past Lornography. Cool stuff!

Finally made it to this one! Might have to reread the original as well.

I think the Call of Cthulhu is a perfect example of H.P. Lovecraft. I enjoy the hell out of going through these stories again. Reading Herbert West - Reanimator now for the first time.

Time for my annual reread. I love how I take something a little different from this story each year.

Freakin' addictive!

I've had this one on my shelf for awhile, so I'm gonna buzz through this before starting in on the rest of my Halloween-themed books for the month. So far, so hilarious.

Really enjoying this one. Nice character development and horror as ancient as the land.

Really cool and creepy so far. Partly reminiscent of Peter Straub and Tom Piccirilli.

I picked this up mostly to have the majority of the Cthulhu mythos in one place. And H.P. Lovecraft is awesome.
