Absolutely loving this so far. MC is just turning 13, and I think this is salty enough even to keep teens interested. And parents will be guffawing throughout. It's not easy to add to a legend, yet Hook's revenge feels pitch-perfect so far.

We gave a 15-book set of Beverly Cleary books to my daughter for Christmas, and this is the first one we're reading. At the time, my son noted that Cleary books are often realistic fiction and take a long time for only minor events to occur. And yet, here we find him often eavesdropping and inquiring about updates on Ellen and Austine's relationship. Never underestimate the power of a skilled author, my son.
