Downloading some classics from Gutenberg to finally read Frankenstein and got sucked in here instead. Should have read this decades ago!

Got sucked into the Big Library Read when I saw it was a book concerning lycanthropy and taking place partially in October. Engaging and some stellar literary references in regards to the werewolf canon. More YA, would make for a great buddy read with the right age progeny.

Didn't get to read nearly as much as I wanted this weekend...must finish today.

Well, I've been enjoying this book despite the slight retread feel to it. Sleeping Beauties is much in the apocalyptic meltdown category of King's work, such as The Tommyknockers, Under the Dome, and Needful Things. However, there's some really cool new ideas in this one, and I've just got to know what it all means. Not to mention this is global and not isolated to a single town, so that is cool too.

I can't think of a better collection, and this is the perfect time of year for these stories. While I've heard of many of these authors, the work is not widely available and each story has been a treat.

Getting down to the nitty-gritty now! That is a favorite of my Dad's, along with "Things are getting hairy!" Both true here, at which point I need the world to step aside for about 4 hours and let this run its course. Please and thank you.

I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this; I thought I was at least a couple years away from being able to properly enjoy a reread.

All hits so far. Loving this collection. Halley's Passing was epic and took place on Halloween, and The Nice Boys hit all the right notes and takes place in foggy venice during the month of October with the climax occurring on the Day of the Dead, Nov. 1. Couldn't ask for a better autumn collection.

Steven Weber's leper about had me driving off the road! His Pennywise and various apparition voices have a visceral effect.

November the 13th is an excellent ghost story, and brings some of the spookiness that some lament is missing from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This would also make a great throwback Twilight Zone episode.

Next is Halley's Passing by Michael McDowell, which the intro promises is a violent little piece of work that takes place on Halloween. What could be more enticing?

Alright, alright, I'll admit that I'm rereading IT even though I had no intention to do so. The movie tie-in cover was irresistible, so I sprung for the Audio. I thought it would be cool to listen to the plight of Georgie right before seeing the movie last weekend, and I was right! The story pulled me in though, and I couldn't resist further listening. Now here I am kneed-deep in a reread and loving every minute.

Herself was an excellent slice of vintage gothic, and the Creatures in the House will make you love Robert Westall even more.

Having a blast with volume 2! This collection is an awesome mix of horror and humor so far. The Bell is a classic scary tale to tell in the dark, and The Elemental brings both laughs and terror. Great reads to far.

Bernard Taylor gets this collection of to a raucous start with Samhain. Looks like this will be typical Valancourt greatness.

Just a thought...what if Carl Fine and Elizabeth Cuttner were to meet? Now that would be an interesting cross over (although I think Elizabeth might have him for breakfast).

The very definition of compulsively readable. Greenhall is mesmerizing, and his explorations of morality and underlying motivations are always fascinating.

Intriguing story and Mr. Godfrey's narration is a delight.

Only Ken Greenhall...in the best possible sense.

I can't think of a finer way to start off my Halloween reads list. Love the chills and ruminations on evil.

Alright, I gotta take a break from my Dark Tower reread and read this before Wolves of the Calla. I think Calla will make a pretty sweet sequel ; )

I can't help but think of George Stark when I hear Starkblast, lol. I love this little book.

I was admittedly annoyed when the backstory hit, but Rhea of the Coos kinda makes up for it.

There's nothing better than watching the Ka-Tet come together. On Bridge and City now...

I want to go to the Manhattan Restaurant of the Mind so bad!
