Second book complete in the trilogy. Interesting worldbuilding but I do think the story and plot pacing could have been better refined. Jemisin's imagination creates really clever worlds and characters, and I would recommend her work.

In my gloriously finite wisdom I picked up the book which is the entire trilogy so while barely over a quarter through the first book in the trilogy is finished. While interesting, I felt a lot of elements were rushed and should have taken more time to develop. Which I must admit is shaded by the bias that I started reading her works with 'The Fifth Season'. Second book is good so far. More complete review to come.

I always found it odd how I knew what the term 'odious' meant. Never found that strange. But when I came across 'odium' I never really connected the dots on the similarity and had to look it up.
