Still in the same place, but I actually don’t want to judge this book too harshly until I take it all in and can give a better opinion on it all. I will genuinely give it a chance, no matter my initial opinion of it from the first few pages.

I’ve just completed chapter one, and I’m already ready to put this book down. No bueno.
However, I will not do that as I have a pact to finish a book if I pick it up, but I can already tell that this will be some read. Let’s see if anything improves in these following eleven chapters to redeem this one.

I am very much enjoying this book. I might finish later today. If not, expect a full review tomorrow.

This is one of my mother's favourite books. I have one of her copies that was printed in 1987, so it is a bit tattered, but I’m glad to have it. There’s an even more tattered copy with all of her notes. I’ve read bits and pieces of this book over the years, and I’ve started it before but never finished it, so I’m glad I’ve picked this book up again, and I will read it in full—two chapters in so far.
