It's probably the worst thing ever when your mother crushes your dreams.

Mallory has this strange way of being optimistic and pessimistic at the same time.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but I bet Tim Burton would love to produce the film adaptation of this intriguing and quirky book. ;)

I keep on imagining Cath's mom as Helena Bonham Carter. XD

This chapter about the scavenger hunt made me LOL last night. My brothers probably thought I was crazy laughing all by myself in the living room. XD

Such an epic prologue! I kinda pity the characters in the Falling Kingdoms series. Our dear Lady Rhodes can be amazingly ruthless. XD

Clark and Andie are officially one of my favorite couples in YA literature. They might have had a rocky start to their relationship, but their chemistry now is palpable.

I'm starting to dislike Amelia. I can't understand her attitude towards sex at all.

My heart is breaking for Mallory.

I'm honestly loving this book. However, I'm starting to become annoyed by how Andie and Clark often start their conversations with "so." I understand that their relationship is still in this semi-awkward stage, but as an editor, I am trained to hate sentence fragments. XD

Being this close to him again was something so powerful the connection was tangible, a third entity.

I won't deceive myself into thinking that Mallory and Rider will be this happy for the rest of the novel. Call me jaded, but I bet a storm is coming (i.e. Paige).

The only disadvantage of being a bookworm is that moving to a new house becomes much more difficult. I hope my babies do not get damaged in the truck along the way. XD

Out of the three POVs in this book, I'm loving Edward's the most, even though it's currently breaking my heart. I'm just overwhelmed by this sudden desire to protect him. :3

The alliances in the Red Rising trilogy are always flexible, if not hopelessly fragile. However, even though I already know this fact, I'm still caught off guard whenever betrayal happens. Thank you for messing with my feelings. Pierce Brown. XD
