Book 5, Damaged but Powerful. A petite double female amputee has powers that enable her to pull on the source -- whatever that is! She is one tough cookie! She takes down a demon, and other monsters. This book is obviously a building block or introduction for this character. She will be back.

I think I'm ready for book 4, Early Shift. I could be wrong. The one I just finished had Otto leading a successful escape from the Demon Realm. The major thing I noticed is the successful planting of details early on that made a difference in this book. Next, I was worried there would be more problems, but Otto finally had some success. Onward. Prologue: The Sword of God. pg. 823

I think I've just finished book 3. (2/18) Zac, the Werewolf, is roaming the countryside looking for his own kind. He finds one! It doesn't work out as well as he hoped. I'm moving on the the next book. Somewhere, the powers that be want to recruit him to track the magical creatures of the Realm. I hope we get there soon.

Unleashed magic! Otto's powers are growing. He is immortal. The supernatural world is at war with itself and with the natural world. Fast action, some awkward phrases. Two down, nine to go.

2/15 I have finished the first "book" or section of this series. Buying the whole series is much cheaper, but it is treated like one book instead of 10. The first section tells the story of Otto, a wizard who can control the elements -- air, water, fire, earth.

At first, I was a little put off by the writing style, word choice, etc. but the hyperactive plot kept me reading. I'm on to part two now.

Fini! I highley recommend this book. After reading the series myself, I went back and read it aloud to my wife.

Every chapter has something new and unexpected from the supernatural world. There is, of course, the romantic interest. Oh, yes, detective story.

I am re-reading this series aloud to my wife. I read to her a bit every day.

This is only the third series that I am re-reading aloud -- the first two being Wheel of Time and the works of Caimh McDonnell.

On the re-read, I am amazed how fast the action moves. Every chapter has something significant and new in it. I may have read it too fast the first time!
