Love the backstories that explain little parts of all the other books.
Just finished The Assassin and the Desert.

Nothing says love quite like a parasite that induces you to mate.

Liked the read. Made me laugh, made me cry (a little). Loved the happy ending. And the explanation that the initial rape scene has been taken out (I had been wondering about this since I'd seen people talk about it. Rape has been talked about but not in detail).

Awwwww! Why do I feel so happy for them? xD I like the mated trope, so that helps. Maybe it's the "after all the shit they went through, there is always a reason to keep going, there can always be a happy ending.
Maybe it's just the enormous amount of smut xD

And suddenly I'm almost 100 pages further in! Well that escalated quickly.
And regardless of the dreadful events that happened in the beginning, I quite like the read. The very smutty read.

Well this is already... full of... emotions and stuff. Yeah there's stuff happening... I don't even know how to feel about this right now.
No idea what I expected after seeing people talk about it but lmao ok.
Definitely want to keep reading though.

God the suspense is already killing me!
Dain clearly doesn't know everything.
How Violet survived first year is still beyond me.
Mystery, plotting, lies, betrayal, love.

So so SO very good! An amazingly cosy, warm read.

LOVE this so far!
Not much is really happening (in terms of action and the likes), but I can feel myself smiling all through the story.
This really is a cosy and wholesome read so far.
I also truly adore the little drawings at the beginning of a chapter, makes me look forward to see what they mean for the story.
