I have to decide what to do with my mother’s collection of old horror paperbacks. I never really did take to them. I found them ghoulish. Maybe it was those covers and that Gothic font, the emboss and foil stamping that made the artwork leap out at me from those wire racks. While I was fascinated to look at them in the grocery store, I never felt quite safe picking them up or reading them while I was at home.
