As I climbed the stairs, I heard Christopher’s voice. “Be happy he liked it. If he didn’t, I’d be pissed. Snow has been through enough in his life and he’ll find happiness here if I have to kill people to give it to him.”

His words stopped me for a moment. Not since my mother died had anyone defended me. Now I had Christopher Manos on my side.
