Berkeley is on page 60 of 336 of Fifth Sun: A New History of the Aztecs
Don’t mind me info-dumping about the Mexica/Aztecs and their rise from swampy, little, barely farmable Tenochtitlan and how interesting polygyny and power plays were in mesoamerican politics. Succession has nothing on the family drama in the first two chapters of this book.

I picked this up on a whim and it’s sparked at least 5 lovely conversations with strangers.

Testing whether my Denmark induced Viking hyperfixation can get me through this book when I’m not on vacation.

Berkeley is on page 59 of 272 of Meander, Spiral, Explode: Design and Pattern in Narrative
The first two chapters lit up the same parts of my brain that were fascinated by einstein’s relativity in college. Already obsessed with the idea of how grammatical structure and punctuation lend a 3d time-space dynamic to a narrative and how the pacing of a narrative (summary, scene, dilation) are essentially the time travel of reading. Hoping I don’t get book ADD before finishing this.
