I did not know about Douglass's protests in the 1840s against the Free Church of Scotland accepting financial support from American Slaveholders (um, *reparations*, anyone?); nor about his protest of the "Evangelical Alliance" which welcomed slaveholders into their fellowship.

This book is FANTASTIC. A wonderful look at the Christian faith and practice of Frederick Douglass. Highly recommended so far
