You know it's a great book when you don't want to stop reading 🙂

I hope this will be the start of a new dystopian era 🙏 Silver Elite is a mixture of Divergent, The Darkest Minds, and maybe Red Queen and Legend. If you grew up with the 2010s dystopian stories, Silver Elite is a nod to that but make it adult.

Plot twist reached. It's unexpected and also way out of left field. The true villain of this book is barely even in it. No character development whatsoever. Just a blip in one of the past chapters. This whole twist/ending feels like it was supposed to be for a different book and was used for this one instead...

You know what else is bothering me about this book? The past chapters are still written in a modern tone. There's no real difference between past and present except for names and outfits. It's like playing pretend. So it feels as if it's just continuous and there's no real break in between the past and present. You're not transported.

Reading this one at work. Still not sure what to think but if it helps pass a slow day along then it's great!

The story is repetitive. The past chapters do the same thing each time (I get why). There's set up, an emotional moment between past family members, Arden, and then death. There is also a phrase used so often once you see it, you can't stop pointing it out. I'm sorry, but it's "this and this and that" or "again and again and again" or "year after year after year" 😩

A new at-work read 💛

I wish I could feel the spectacular feeling other readers are having about this book. I'm just waiting for it to become that for me and its not... I may be part of the minority but I don't care about the outcome for the sister. The longing betwen MCs feels forced. I do like the story and the ideas behind it but I think it could have been better executed by a different author like Rebecca Ross or even VE Schwab.

Alright, I lied. It's definitely not like The Time Traveler's Wife 😆 but it does have the aura / vibes of Addie LaRue.

It's like if The Time Traveler's Wife and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue had a YA child, and this would sort-of be it.

I'm liking this one a lot so far. I needed something with a good pace and a little less info dump.

I think I might have to DNF this one 😕

I think this one will end up being an overall 3 - 4 star read.

I know I'm reading this one really slow, but it's picking up, and I feel like I'm going to enjoy it more now that the story is moving along.

I missed Rune and Gideon 💙 this will easily be a five-star read.

I really like the new Netgalley Reader feature. It makes reading books at work so much easier. Also, the book is good so far.

Another work read... I did not know this book was part of a series 😩 same small town style, but following different main characters.

Another 'at work' read. The pacing and story are super quick and it really helps pass the time along 👍

It's so slow 🐌😩 but I like the story too so I'm at a crossroads of wanting to set it down and I want to finish it too...

It's taken me a while to get to this point. The beginning is slow but it feels like the story is starting to pick up speed. I really don't want to dnf this one. I do believe it will be worth finishing.

I'm not very far along but it's giving off The Cruel Prince vibes 💕 I'm enjoying it but it's slow. I think it'll pay off so I'm going to try to stick with it.

This book has a slow build up but it's absolutely worth it 🖤
