This book bugs me so much... it reads like an adult book but it certainly can’t be a 12 year old!! I do like Justin but not much has happened other than he calls her Belle after the jellyfish. I don’t care about the pee incident either! So what?!

Why is everyone in this book so unspeakably Cruel?! The teachers... every child... her friend... I know people are cruel but everyone?!

Yes, I've quickly finished this gem of a book!! I can't believe how wonderful it was, funny and cute and so spot on to middle grade. The only thing that I didn't like was that the grandmother seemed unreasonable about the dog. She made a big to do about Lucy getting out but then wasn't willing to make a single change for Lucy? Not in character to what we'd seen before.

This is delightfully laugh out loud funny. I love Lucy and Windy, grandma and uncle and am intrigued by Levi... the cheating incident was mortifying but so true to the age. The OCD element is spot on! I love that she loves Mr Stoker so much, teacher love is the best.

I like Zu... she’s a good kid whose ex friend died at a vulnerable time in her life. She’s trying to use science to get over it. But she reads too much like a grown woman...page after page after page of deep insights with barely a breathe taken in between. She’s 12! And the facts are boring! They aren’t incorporated in a dynamic way... I hope something happens friendship wise with Mahoney...

I wish I loved this more... right now it’s a bit boring... BUT I do like that Kellen told Blue a little about his life so she could understand him better!

I really don’t know what to think... a lovely slice of life Japanese culture story with a tinge of romance and growing up!

These two are soooo awkward! Not sure what the point is...

Sooooooooooooo good! Loved the end, loved the sisters, the slow burn romance, and even Sev. I can’t wait for the next book either!

This is getting quite good... I like the turn of events with Sev and all Trix noticed about him. Also Veronyka and Tristan’s shift to friendship felt spot on due to that piece of advice she gave him.

This is pretty good... I was broken hearted for Veronyka! I would have murdered her... she got off light in my book... I like Tristan even though he’s a bit of a brat... Sev is intriguing but not much is happening at this point.

GAH that was so sweet! Hatching the egg... poor Val, so steely and controlled. I can see why the bird chose Veronyka, though Val has the knowledge.

Phoenix riders and animages! A lot of telling so far...

I really love that she wants to help the homeless but I can’t help thinking she was stupid to do a spell in front of a woman who is known to catch magic users nor to try to trade her fake gold then too... reads as contrived...

Haha read in almost one sitting... I really enjoyed this book. Quite historically accurate. Fun and not too literal a retelling. Had quite a bit f religious mentioning especially in the second half of the book. Didn’t bother me but might you if you aren’t Christian. Love Wolfgang and how Stefan redeemed himself, Paul von Rusdorf too!

Haha I’m loving this... it reads realistically for all that the premise is outrageous! I love Wolfgang and how swift the pace of the story is...

WOW Leela opened a whole can of worms! I wasn’t surprised at Sera escaping but the under belly of the city was fascinating though I knew the lost cerulean were fueling something... I didn’t want to read the second one really until this part...!

Leo has gotten on board the save Sera express as has Frances... interesting what Leela has learned about the high priestess too...

Leela and Sera’s purple mother has come to know the high priestess is a lier and Sera was not chosen by the sun goddess... also a friend was gotten rid of...

This is so typically Japanese... but I really like the characters...

The tree and fish man is really cool. Mertag and ? Leo got her necklace. They know her blood can heal... they will drain her dry if they can... Agnes finds Servagain and they bloodbond so can now communicate. A lot of duplication here showing Agnes stuff we already know... about what happened to her.

Sera falls but doesn’t break the tether...?! Leo and Agnes find her in a crater after witnessing her hit the ground. His father wants to use the creatures he got from P to replenish K!

So another 2 POVs... Leo and Agnes fraternal twins on the surface in a very uptight society.

Hmmm seems like a really lopsided culture... all lesbian love and veggie eaters. Poor Sera... obviously chosen cause she’s an annoyance to most of the others. The disc world sounds cool, almost like a character in and of itself...

So fascinating... not sure how this will be but the girl, Takeo and Mr Nakano are super intriguing...

Hmmm. I’m grateful the story in the present ended up being so thin... it wasn’t my favorite but reading about the dragon queen was so good if sad! I was bored at times but really learned a lot too and enjoyed how her life was dramatized.

I’m glad we don’t go to the modern day often cause it’s boring... but I feel for her getting outsmarted by her father in law... her poor son! But her loyal guard got her away! And she got her son in hiding too... the pottery making and listening to the spirit of thing was fascinating...
