Really loved this entire middle part... how he figured out what was happening with the mine and mercenary forces... the double betrayal and Draycos going all warrior!

The battle was neat with Draycos going all ninja warrior on the bad guys... the kid had his weapon taken away! They end up going to a different camp which Draycos noticed... Allison noticed the kid talking to the sgt about it!

Battle 69-70 - Kaguya passes out and waits at home freaking out until Miyuki comes and asks her to be VP... he also asks Ino to be on the student council and asks back our treasurer and secretary! Then we get a comedic chapter about underwear! The new girl thinks everything is risqué, lol.

Battle 67-68 - we learn about the girl against Miyuki ... and he helps her so they have a real debate making it so she talks to him! It was cute how the treasurer wanted it so the students wouldn’t laugh at her... it was a close win though, hahaha!

Battle 65-66 - we meet Miko Ino the rival of Miyuki for student body president... she is extremely straight laced and couldn’t possibly win as the treasurer learns from her campaign message, lol. Kaguya is worried and tries to make a deal but Miko says no she’d rather clean them up by getting them on her student council!!

Hahha I like Emile... I get why he believes Max is manipulative... special needs kids do come across like that but I don’t believe their motive is to control you. I’m not a fan of Lily... I hope I come to like her more as I read, because right now she’s rather pretentious.

Then in the next she worries her love is shallow and asks Kashiwagi for advice but uses true love which is seen as outdated! Haha it was so funny how Chika just comes up and says she’s shallow while the treasurer says whatever love is true love... K thinks it’s creepy, lol. Kaguya is reassured though! Miyuki comes up looking like a zombie...

Battle 63-64 - Miyuki gets sleep so his sharp eyes soften... Kaguya doesn’t like the look so he goes back to being sleep deprived because she’s the only one who matters... only she doesn’t seem happy then either!

In the next they have art elective together and M makes her look so cute even improving his art! She makes him look ugly so he won’t look like a prince, lol.

Battle 61-62 - Chika says someone needs to endorse Miyuki to the pures... she want to do it but he picks Kaguya! He goes to her class and everyone thinks he’s going to confess and it’s cute how he almost does! Instead he whispers to her and leaves everyone in suspense.

Jack the Flash and the Rainbow Egg (part 1) by Yuu Godai - this was a really neat detective story with a changing and the “brother” who got switched with her hunting down a dragon egg stolen from Lindel. It’s just the first half but I’m excited to read the second!

The Sun and the Dead Alchemist by Kiyomune Miwa - I really like the dead Alchemist Iron Rust as a character... he had the opportunity to be a better person than he had hereto been but was too selfish. At least the girl Uruk died knowing he loved her too and feeling she’d done justice to her job.

The Man Who Hungered for Trees by Jun’ichi Fujisaku - This was incredibly boring until Alan realized he needed to look in the shed. He was totally set up by Paul Anderson genius programmer!! Turned horror in a good way. First 3 star story...

Defender and Ash by Sakura Satou - Alex goes into a swamp to save her sister’s soul after luring her there to die. GAHHH such a good sisterly story... to feel jealousy is so natural too. She self taught herself and even gets a gancanagh for a familiar which was neat! The murderer aspect was spooky too!

Rainbow Day, Feast Day by Hikaru Sakurai - really loved this about the silver lady, Silky... how she came by her cookery skills through the widow and how the spriggin has brought her there as a banshee and healed her heart!

Pyrite Knight by Kairi Aotsuki - LOVED this one... Felicia is a 13 yo who has the sight. She finds a crystal and it brings dark things to her. Lewis protects her from her brooch. Loosely connected to our artificer whom years later she’s looking for. Love the idea stones contain the world’s memories!

The Vampire’s Lover by Makoto Sanda - This is about Joel and a behind the scenes look at how he and a leannan sidhe fell in love. It’s quite beautiful how she keeps saying it’s about the roses. He calls himself a bibliomaniac hermit, lol. It’s so poignant!!

Done! Made me cry...

This was much better with less short story chaps and more storyline! Love more about her dad, Jin and our new character!

Chap 11 - young Ran doesn’t believe Makoto (Hibi as she calls him) at first but he says he wants to be her friend. She confused and nearly destroys the school but is quite happy so gets lost going home, lol. He comes along and gruffly gets her home. Soooo cute... oh btw Otano lived!

Chap 10 - Ran’s mom has been gathering magic in barrels so she can come home... she tells Lord Zen! The people are really happy to see him visit. We learn her beauty secret, haha getting kneaded like dough. Jin kisses Sango cause he’s in heat, lol. Ran realizes she can ask Makoto who bought the flowers!

Chap 9 - Her dad gathers a bunch of tengu crows and they have a special meeting... a bug has gotten thru and they need to find it. Turns out it copied itself and one burrowed into Otano’s head! They bring him to their house to get the bug... they assume he is dead but turns out he has tons of resistance. Makoto is the boy who likes Ran... he’s realized about the shoes!

Chap 8 - Ran hurts her ankle and is stuck at home... it hurts because she won’t stay off it. The boy from school visits cause he caused her to be hurt... he brings her flowers but is to embarrassed to give them to her. He witnesses her change from grown up to her real age! Jin has a girl visitor and Otano gets revenge on the woman who caused him to walk naked then visits Ran, but her brother drives him off.

Chap 7 - Tameo arrived while Ran was on a date with Otaro! She didn’t like the look of him and he had been pawing Ran the entire time. She knocks him out and takes the shoes off Ran, lol. She thinks Ran is stupid with a hollow brain... lol.

Awww love her friendship with Autumn and her preoccupation with monsters and a cure...

Not a major cliffhanger at all... a little obvious but quite good!

So excited to find this book and get back to this neat dragon!

Scene 15 - they do a haunted house but make it too scary, lol! Instead of fun people were terrified and drained. Soooo funny because Ranmaru gave them all the ideas because he was so scared.
