12 - Osana eats lunch with T and Komi... T reveals Komi wants to make 100 friends... O demands Komi get her a drink... or they won’t be friends!!!

11 - this was too funny!! Osana fails with Komi but when 2 of her/his old friends come up and one announces his feelings for O Komi is the one who accidentally chases him away!! O says she had the wrong idea about Komi and will be her friend.

10 - Tadano talks to Osana who says she traumatized her in the second grade when she wouldn’t talk to him. T convinced O to walk home with her...

9 - Tadano introduces Komi to his friend Osana who is now a girl?! Anyway she’s a super communicator and Komi actually tries to ask if she’ll be her friend... only Osana says absolutely not!!! WHAT?!

8 - first he tried to approach popular girl Yamai about Komi... she tells him off!! Scary... this is gonna be tough.

7 - back to the short stuff... funny she turned to stone though...

6 - They have a long convo on the blackboard... she confides she wants to make 100 friends and Tadano says he’ll be her first and help her make 99 more! Sounds good.

5 - feels like a really long convo!! Komi explains her dilemma on the blackboard. They’re so cute!!

4 - he senses she can’t communicate and blurts it out!! She agrees...

3 - something happens when she drops an eraser... with a ninja?! Too short a chapter...

2 - they introduce themselves in class. Komi writes her name on the board and is cheered. Tadano is booed and he makes a very sociable introduction.

1 - ok short chapter! Hitohito Tadano is pretty funny. Komi is totally scary haha. The art is pretty neat... it has this comic feel to it that manga normally doesn’t have.

She makes it to the palace. This is quite brutal with not one man a decent sort except her father. I like the demon castes. But the world building is kind of eh right now. It’s heavy with meaningless description. I was a bit bored... 😣

Hmmmm... the siege was really good! There was a boring chapter when one of the generals explained about the human parts of the land. There was a chapter about the past with the girl Haruhiro knew before. But the major battle at the end supporting Renji’s group was epic! Haruhiro was instrumental in developing the tactics that took the 2 bounties out.

Hmmm Lemon is a much better protagonist than Eve! And I love reading Cricket’s POV. Hunter is a neat character too! I can’t wait for them to rescue the 2 deviants!!

Eve has made an invitation to her other brothers and sisters. Gabriel and Faith working with her.

The end was a bit overwrought and too easy... but no one I cared for died so I guess all the fake angst was good. I always love in these types of books how councils always suddenly realize they did wrong and right it. Very convenient. Still I’m with Leena these guys are like family! I can’t wait til their future adventures.

Biggest thing to note... this is perfectly balanced between a paranormal romance and an urban fantasy. A straight UF would have seen her mistrustful... but a PR would see them fall in love. It was obvious what the gyss would demand. But can he reobtain what he built?

She found the first beast for Kost... a Poi that can see 2 minutes into the future. Her capturing it was pretty neat! There was some attempt made to have her think about not trusting... but it’s obvious she does... and not just Noc but all of them. It just doesn’t fit...

There are now orders. Basically big operations with the real army. If they participate and finish the job they ge5 a gold. H meets Choco and feels like he knew her from before. Their less experienced group is doing it!?

They kind of languish thru this 14% getting to know one another, not really in a hurry... they finally get on their way. Both are acting like they are love interests which I just don’t get... she should be totally wary worried he’s using her. She already had a lover do that and this guy could still get her bounty! Get her into bed then kill her once he has the animals. ANYONE would guess this was his plan...

Panderia ~ Pasteleria by Anna-Marie McLemore - 4 stars
You sure can feel her culture and diversity infuse every moment on the page. While still a rather aimless story it perfectly pulled together all the little meetings we had with Lila. Learning her situation and the situation of many of the old timers on Hungry Heart Row.

Side Work by Sara Farzian - 3 stars
A cute little F/F romance about a girl redeeming herself to her parents and in her own eyes. I liked the family, her uncle and how the restaurant helped her. The story didn’t have much going on and ended abruptly but the right reader will relate.

A Bountiful Film by S.K. Ali - 4 stars
A girl is feeling a little uncomfortable after moving across town to her grandmother’s neighborhood. A teen filmmaker she works on a new film there and comes to find a new attitude toward her new home.

Bloom by Phoebe North - 3 stars
This started out really good with an unexpected personality. Then it got really odd ending abruptly. I wish I understood the point of the story. Diversity seems a part of it but diversity alone isn’t enough.

Hearts a la Cart by Karuna Riazi - 4 stars
This could have been a fun short story but it’s bogged down with a lot of controlling attitude on the part of the girl. An upbeat but open ended end would have been better!

I’m not a fan of Noc. Just kill her if that’s your oath. This is contrived crap, not true conflict.

Wow... I was shocked at how tight to her change of heart was her release... but in order for her to retain her original feels it had to be. Still Ty was a good thing for her... he helped her see art and the beauty of the land. They could have been something if he wasn’t amoral and approached her in Britain instead.

Sooooo good! The best kpop/ Korean story I’ve read. Truly fun and I loved Merri. She was a teenager but not whiney about it. You can relate so much to her struggles over her mom and her best friend. Her dad came around and I just loved him. And how snarky funny Lee was! So, so good!
