A Minor Evolution- The boy follows the little girl who consents to being the sacrifice to save her sister and friend. The bear comes who they believe is Oniguma and the boy gets his head bitten off turns into the wolf and kills it. The girl who does the ritual agrees for the two girls and the wolf to live if they come with them back to their country... the wolf says thank you to a piece of fruit!

Playing House - awww she follows him and when they see fruit she gets one down but he keeps taking it from her and acting like a wolf in human form hahaha she realizes eventually that he’s like a child who knows nothing so she gets him fruit and names him Fushi! Then the woman she ran from comes for her... and the massive bear attacks her friend

The Immature Girl - March is a little girl anxious to grow up to be a mom. When it’s time to make the offering to Oniguma she is only 1 of 3 who can be chosen. If she doesn’t go it must be her baby sister. She’s very grown up until on the way up when she runs and meets the boy coming alive from a bear attack! Parona can’t shoot but wants to save her.

The Final One - woah... this was incredibly sad... totally foreshadowed but I just didn’t want it to be... this boy’s rambling to his dead dog just about made me want to die... and the orb could only do one thing ... replicate

GAHHHHH a boring beginning for sure with the ceremony and pomp. I do love the skulls too! And the narrative was easy to read, not too much fangirling.

It gets mildly better with humans up and about. Portia is interesting but the writing is so pretentious it’s hard to read nevertheless.

Hmmm boooooooorrrrrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggggggg... and I don’t know that I like the way the spider narrative read either!! I HATE Kern and her stupid egotistical brain. And stupid Sering for not making sure she couldn’t free the pod! Okay I’ll read another couple chapters... 😖

Hmmm the end was okay! Everything is overtly easy. And she has zero personality but I enjoyed her fears and I loved the dragons and the dragon dreams. The love interests are a bit messed up... it’s a soft book. The beginning slow, the conflict easy but there’s something I enjoyed about it.

Oh she loses the goals she made a deal with a Sev (to rescue Maia) when the Talons were chasing them. She used them to get away... oops!

She actually has zero personality and isn’t a consistent character at all. It comes out really apparent with Sev. Then when he says she’s special know she really is a special snowflake because there ain’t nothing special about this gal. Her idolization of Maia makes me a little sick too. You shouldn’t have sex with someone you hero worship this much.

She escapes with vials and frees the yearlings but doesn’t get one. It’s anticlimactic as she uses the well as planned and Sev appears to help her... with an egg! Yay! Best news all book! They are chased by talons into a cave for wrongly killed ghosts. She makes a deal with them because she’s dragon touched. The egg hatches and is adorable.

She dreams of Sev kissing her after their time in the arena which sickens her. The Talons come and she’s allowed to go to the training. They control the dragons with oils she learns! But the old V people could bond with dragons without oil. Then she dreams of K and is in a panic that she needs to leave...

She’s been dreaming a lot... dragon dreams her mom told her. The next day her humming bothers Neve so she follows the hum to go up in the keep. She finds a hidden passage to spy on dragons! Sev was there she realizes later! Sev and Lilian invite her to the dragon games. He’s a staunch dragon defender.

aromatory is what a Neve is! (She has silver braids) The only one in the world... Kellyn the aurati in charge at the keep wants to take over as aromatory but the only way Neve is replaced is death.

Neve texted her ability to smell. Then poisons the lord so she can find it! Now she’s moved up to being the aroma lady’s apprentice in trying the dragons! Slow going getting here... but I’m excited to meet the dragons finally!

Finally something interesting happened! She makes a plan to steal a baby dragon. Convinced her parents to allow her to travel. Then went to the dragon fortress instead of the town she told her parents about. Found her father’s estranged cousin. Became a poison tester. Found out about Neve... This is where it gets going!

Awww I totally sobbed through this end. It’s not a perfect book but I so, so enjoyed it!!

Then we have the lovely Stephanie! She steps up for her cousin and pushes Aly to confront what happened with Alex. He wouldn’t want her to be miserable like this! So she goes to his room and finds a message he left her on his drive! It’s horrible suicides do this... but they honestly believe they are weak and can’t cope. It breaks my heart!

Awww The bromance is reaaaaaaallllllll!! Love how our two Ss Stu and Sungil took the initiative to figure out what was up with M! The leader and Jae just stewed and avoided him feeling guilty. And it all came spilling out! I was so delighted the youngest knew about him dating Aly too hahaha!

We learn what she said to him and she reveals about her brother when he’s in a car accident. Him and the manager had to go to surgery. They bond one night him not able to go with cause of his arm... they sleep together and secretly date. Y blows a gasket when he sees them together in M’s studio.

Okayyy They start work and it’s a lot better environment... she’s there when he’s on the reality show, gets drunk and makes a video she uploads of his nasty partner hitting him. There’s a scandal but she’s not part of it. Jae is pissy toward M and we learn Y knew about him almost quitting. This is why he doesn’t like Alana.

Final chapter - Goda makes his movie! He and Ruka become a couple, eventually marry and have kids! Ranmaru becomes the club president since everyone graduates. Maasa and Tomu go to Hollywood after she trains with the horror master she met in the park! Izumi travels. Soh likes Ranmaru?! Hahaha it was a stellar ending to the series.

38 - Ruka’s period of hell is almost over and she reveals to Ranmaru that it made her so happy to dedicate all her time to her passion. Ruka’s aunt comes back after learning it was Ruka’s friends who scared her... she has a showdown with Ruka’s stepmom who steps up and insists Ruka can decide her own life! So Ranmaru goes to Goda and tells him to take responsibility and say what Ruka can only hear from him!

37 - Ruka says she’s quitting after the big summer festival... so Goda tells all the directors so they all make big demands on her... she can’t say no... but he’s hoping she’ll change her mind. Their moments alone when he helps her are cute... but the others are so cute they decide to take action at the Enjoji home!

36 - Soh goes on her date and wants it to be perfect! The art squad helps her it’s pretty cute!

35 - they go on a picnic and Soh comes with some friends including the guy who likes her. Our zombie girl likes him too haha... Soh tries talking to Izumi about his plans after graduation and he spaces out and falls. She decides to go on a date with the other guy!

34 - Tomu is excited a super hero movie is being made and agrees to do all the costumes...when he tries to help he isn’t skilled enough. In the park an old man recruits him! Turns up he’s a professor and wants him for the movie! Something awakens in Tomu and he wants to work really hard to make the movie shine!

So I think with a sad heart I may not continue with this series. I realize I don’t really like Kou. He’s a jerk and that came out in this volume especially... and for all her protestations she wants to change F is just madly chasing this guy jerking her around.

23 - so yeah F works up the courage to follow Kou home so she can tell him how she feels. He rejects her right off so she asks him why he kissed her ... and he has the audacity to say he got caught up in the moment! Jerk You shouldn’t have chased her then! I don’t care what commonalities you have with Narumi... you don’t love her and eventually she’ll resent you for it.
