10 - L hits Dr Jack and turns out it’s an automatim too! He stops AJ’s attack on L seemingly realizing she would have used it to escape with them. We meet the real Dr and a slew of his creations when he explains this and we see she’s risking a lot reaching out to L. They get him back to Bill who upgrades his arm but it’s a mega risk due to it being a medical unit.

L confronts Dr Jack that AJ said help to him... but he says no possible as she has no vocal cords but is the epitome of a war machine. He brings her out to brag. And L insists he’s going to free her from him.

9 - Turns out Hugo’s dad had a bit to play in his battle... his opponent changed after the celebrity bout was announced. If HD allowed it Amethyst would support him for federation president an ambition he’d long held. Hence him pushing Hugo to keep fighting in the ring. He tries to threaten The Amethyst rep Dr. Jack but his maid was a bodyguard.

8 - L wakes up finally from his surgeries. Hugo isn’t so lucky, he survived but necrosis set in and he’s in a bunch of jars now. L goes to see him and they talk. Hugo wants him to beat AJ since he can’t. L says he hasn’t forgiven him for what he said about his mom so he’ll be waiting to beat his ass in the ring. Hugo’s dad listening to his son tells L he’ll take him to AJ.

7 - L attacks AJ and right before she sends him flying he says she faintly said HELP! Bill is asked by Hugo’s father to try to save him and he agrees for a fee. He says L is fine but will need funding to evolve. Amethyst bought orphans to brainwash and use in the war... that’s why AJ is so young. They want to use the MMA to advertise their military ware.

6 - except Hugo dies in this fight! A special fighter, a soldier type who helped end the war was his opponent and slaughtered Hugo. And turns out... she was a 16 year old girl! The youngest at 11 to fight in the battle in L’s home town. To say he hates these Amethyst people is an understatement. UZ had to hold him back once he saw the logo.

5 - Hugo his opponent lies in weight for L to insult his mother and get him hot. L and UZ came to watch him fight. We learn Hugo’s idol was another MMA fighter and he modeled himself after him. It rang really authentic to me. He’s going to be a mega fight for L!

4 - the new MMA stadium matches the one from L’s dream. Once his UZ told him he really rises in the rankings. He’s chosen to fight in the battle for a rank II fighter to ascend to the new stadium and become a rank I fighter... one of the 13! His opponent in the best in rank II and is a crazy bruiser...

3 - we finish up the backflash with L visiting his mom in the hospital. Later he tells UZ about how she found him and shielded him when a hospital collapsed on her. He dreamed that he fights and his mother is there watching. So that’s how he got in MMA. UZ knew Bill, who made his arm fight worthy though he feels all the pain he inflicts with it.

2 - we go back to when L first came to live with his uncle Zach. He’s just like his dad with a head to remembering details. He’s glad his dad died and worries about his mom who collapsed when L lost his arm. He wants to learn about his mom’s youth and has a photo. He sees her young in the crowd and runs after her only to be led to the arena.

Wow... this is bad... it feels like a new adult story... the beginning was really muddled and poorly written. Info dumping in the middle of what was supposed to be a tense scene. The characters are okay. The way her life is setup doesn’t really make sense.

Wow... this is dense with too much telling. It’s hard to stay interested

She has a really messed up relationship with her mom. But she managed to get her to allow her to take Kung fu. She meets Chase there and they go at it hardcore. We learn about a Yun a guy she used to know as kids who is now gay and doesn’t like she brought it up, anyway that mess caused her to miss the signs with Chase.

The art is fantastic! So delicate for a grungy dystopian about boxing with cybernetics. I love how dynamic movement is shown with blurs and sharpness. The fight was really well done especially. A totally unique manga! I bet it’s even more gorgeous in paper!

1 - we meet the title character. He has a comatose mother. He’s an MMA cybernetic boxer. Bill keeps up his repairs and his uncle is his trainer. He does a bout and goes berserk which I guess happens a lot. Ripped the guy to shreds. He’s pretty popular at this point.

There were several new terms that were neat and I loved the new characters too!

23 - Aoi meets Byakuya feeding tube demons that look sorta like cats. He’s embarrassed and thinks she’s going to blackmail him. Instead she wants to feed him breakfast and learn about the human wife of the Prince so she can feed them food they’d enjoy. She asks the odanna to be able to go get the ingredients and he agrees if she takes his ogre fire and stays with Ginji.

22 - a fortune fairy comes to visit the restaurant because she smells red beans! She loves the red bean dessert Aoi made and bestows her fortune on the restaurant! The front office calls them 8n because royalty wants to reserve the R! If they do it their budget won’t get slashed. It’s all that’s to the author who has a column in the newspaper.

21 - Hakkabo the author comes to thank her for the boxed lunch she sent. She asks about his writing and makes him a meal with the hot spring eggs. it’s clear he adores the odanna. But then he learns her name and relation to her grandpa and is so excited he runs off to write. Haha

20 - her restaurant is still not successful. When she sees the odanna leaving she asks to tag along. They go to a hot springs where eggs are cooking and they have lemon soda! It’s his personal cottage. He gives her advice saying she’s working too hard. Love how he teases her about becoming his bride.

This is a true cliffhanger this time! I’m pretty jazzed the see what S does to get the whistle from the lake.

12 - we meet a new character from Zen’s territory where the birds her island are known for are being slaughtered by the new Lord. He brought it to Zen to make her look a fool. Instead S and company come up with the idea to use them for messages! So the Lord tries to sabotage the test because he didn’t see the potential. S who is there too plans to see the test succeed no matter what!

11 - we get Obi’s POV... he’s asked by the prince to watch over her. Other court people are watching her to see if it’s worth courting her favor after the rumor she’s who Zen wants to marry. He goes as she harvests some berries. And watches over her as she gets drunk. Zen makes him his official messenger with her as a beard for what he’s doing.

10 - we learn through backflash that Zen’s bro is quite canny about politics and is a good leader to become king. Zen feels his bro judged her too quickly without getting to know her. She runs into Raj and stops him from poisoning himself. And tells him to be a prince worth bragging about. Bro confronts her and she says she’s not leaving.

Anticlimactic end as Silas has to be sent in... which was obvious. EVERYTHING was obvious! Very few plot points weren’t guessed by me from the start. It makes for an extraordinarily boring read. I like the two main characters but they were really extraordinary to me 🙈 I wanted them to be. I did like Silas...

Silas dies saving Nathaniel so they resummon him and she gives 10 years plus N’s original 20. Silas and the library world is really the best parts. The summoning circle was pretty obvious and feels ripped from Fullmetal Alchemist. Ashcroft possesses the directors hence not leaving his home. It’s so boring though... with too much description.

9 - Raj comes and the prince’s meet. Izana wants Raj to take her home. Raj says he though Zen and her were to get married. Zen confronts Raj and Raj says if it’s not true then why not let him take her home? Meanwhile she’s overheard it all and feels insecure. Is she even needed? She goes to see Zen and they embrace.

101 - Kaguya gets a new cell but is bummed she lost her photos. She seems depressed but asks everyone for their line account. It shocks Miyuki because she didn’t have a trick to get his! So he made a student council group and the have a shared album! So now she has even more photos than she had before! The final page is a photo they take together!

100 - the principal comes and takes photos of them for a brochure. Kaguya can’t have her image taken, but she’s upset he puts Chika and Miyuki as bf and gf! Haha then they go to take a group photo and she drops her flip phone and loses all her photos on it.

99 - they play a random survey game with coins that people play on group dates. Everyone wanted to know how the others felt about them except Chika who wanted to know whose in love! Haha
