Moving right along on the journey.

Some good and useful info, but mostly filler.

The supposed best story in this collection is better than the last only because it wasn't plagued with spelling errors. But characterisation, motivation, dialogue, logistics, and just plain nonsensical situations make me ready to abandon the rest of this collection. But I'm just barely curious enough about the next one to continue.

Very confused at this point.

I was definitely not expecting a visit to the real world.

Unimpressed by the first story and all of its spelling errors.

Poor editing with spelling and grammar.

There was another element of the Burroughs formula (clueless Earthman accidentally initiating a courtship process), but subverted in this case because he either knew what he was doing, or figured it out very quickly.

A classic quest/journey structure, where the main character travels across this planet to reach the city where the Chasch took his space ship, in the hope of repairing it and getting back to Earth, but seeing the sights, meeting people, learning about the other species that will be focused on in the next books, and gaining and losing companions along the way.

So far it's sort of Burroughs-like, except without the superpowers.

Lots of progress on this finally. And I see yet more parallels to the movies that came after this book, like the giant asteroid worm and Ewok-like aliens. Of course it's also interesting that the three main characters in this book have not yet been revealed (decided on) as family members. And Leia is explicitly not Force-sensitive.

I was hoping to see more of the kelpie.
