Haven’t liked the last couple of stories about the girl sea pirate and the witch and the stepmother. Lots of talk of insects and witches. Not that I have a problem with either of those, just not digging these last stories.

Just started this tonight! The eARC is a little hard to read because the chapters aren’t super defined. Sometimes I’m reading a story and then I get confused until I realize a new story has started. Now I’m in a section with a bunch of shorter short stories that are numbered. Aside from that, these stories are bonkers! Ghost stories, stories about sasquatches, all sorts of crazy stuff and it’s great!

They are holding up in an abandoned cabin in the woods with an old mattress that has a dark (blood?) stain in the middle. There is a grave with what looks like dog bones in it and another possible site which could be a grave. None of the women looked in it. Carmen and Falk have a bit of sexual tension brewing. Kind of annoying...can’t make and female characters ever just be partners or friends?

Jill never wanted in the “family business”.
