A disjointed book that finishes well, though not completely. There are four distinct areas of Jane's life. The third is wrapped up well, though many questions remain. The second is pretty much abandoned. The first is wrapped up awkwardly. I'm glad that I read it, but am in no hurry to read it again.

Good book. I might have appreciated it more if it weren't told almost exclusively from the perspective of the housekeeper recounting the story to a character (Mr Lockwood) that is originally set up to be profound but ends up being an afterthought. However, Heathcliff is an astounding villain whom I palpably ended up loathing. His story is equally ludicrous and loathsome. A quality classic novel.
