Ok, I want to read my first Brandon Sanderson this year. Where do I start? Mistborn? Stormlight archive?

Too much romance and horror. It’s time for something EPIC.

Somehow ended up reading two romances in a row where the protagonist is depressed and grieving and the dude is trying to help her through it. It’s hard not to compare them.

I wonder how much of this crap was dur to Elvis just being a controlling tool, and how much was due to everyone in his family being on his payroll and he literally never heard the word “no”.

I’m interested in how she is going to make me like this guy, because he is a creep.

I have a crush on the crushes these two have on each other.

Call me old and grumpy, but I’m just not enjoying the teen flashbacks.

Do people still listen to the radio?

Now she is using the verb “TiVoing” to describe someone recording something on their iPad. No.

Do people still use TiVo as a verb? I am finding that very distracting.

I misplaced my copy of this book. It’s probably in some tote bag somewhere. Finally got it from the library and I’m loving it!

I am just seeing everyone as Veronica Mars characters now.

Fascinating.

This book is already fascinating. Love when a book teaches me something. I love the immersion into the world of translation. I also appreciated the difference between the character’s introduction to college which was in direct contrast to my introduction to grad school. This visceral inferiority to the character is exactly what I’m obsessed with writing in my characters. Page 11 and I have so much to say.

Guys - I haven’t had a book that I was this addicted to in YEARS. I know it has its flaws, but I’m having such a great time right now. So much of my job is looking for errors and criticizing - I’m just having the best time letting all that go.

Book club pick - I haven’t read a Picoult book in ages. I got a little frustrated with them back in the day.

Ok, I could really do without the whole Russian hockey player’s lactose intolerance thing. Can we be done with it? Isn’t he the romantic lead in book 4? His whole character is Russian. hockey player. Bathroom issues.

Hmmmm, interesting.

It’s almost like an angry incel and his group of internet famous gamers, including his ex who has more chip than shoulder, weren’t the best choices to inherit a billion dollar empire and attempt to save the world....
