SEEKING HELP

I am writing in a 3rd person limited narrative, with different viewpoints. so what i am asking is, in a past chapter i introduced a main character but he plays a part in the next chapter but this time its a different POV can i name him or do i just describe him and leave it up to the reader to figure it out.
