i wish i had some thoughts to share but i’m feeling pretty neutral about this story rn

this book has had a really slow start but i’m beginning to really like the story. i’m hooked on what’s happening in antain’s life atm. i hope there’s a future for him and ethyne

this book kinda reminds me of a disney fairytale

learning about the demining process is super fascinating! it got a little wordy at times and some descriptions just went right over my head but i enjoyed it!

camilla also talked about how challenging it can be for a woman to be taken seriously in any kind of leadership role (despite their title) and it really resonated with me. women often face extra obstacles and feel obligated to work harder to gain simple respect

honestly i was expecting a better comeback from the last volume :/ so far it’s eh i’m not really sure where the author plans on going in this volume

so far, it’s okay! it’s definitely a late elementary/middle school read which i don’t have an issue with if it’s meaningful and interesting. but so far there isn’t anything very special about this book yet. the writing is good though and i do see potential for the story to pick up so we’ll see!!

i really liked issue 14! it was all about larry which was pretty cool since he is my favorite! kinda crazy that it’s taken 3 volumes to learn more about him

i am speeding through this book! it’s so heartfelt and interesting. i’ve already teared up in a few parts of the story. super excited to see where this story goes!!

wow this fifth story, ‘the soldier prince’ was pretty cool. in the beginning it definitely scared me a bit haha bc i am not a fan of stories where toys/dolls come to life. but this story was so fascinating and i soon grew to love the soldier prince. it was a twisted spin on pinocchio but with a much better ending!

i don’t think i can read this short story at night hahah it seems to be about a doll coming to life and that,,, is one of my biggest irrational fears

kinda feel bad for the dragon but i’m not surprised since he chose to trust gert

the fourth story, “little knife” was okay. it was easy to get through and not completely boring but i feel no connection to it :/

wow ‘the witch of duva’ is definitely my favorite short story so far!! at first it was kind of boring and confusing but wow did it pick up. it’s a spin on the story hansel and gretel but it is totally not predictable. you will be at the edge of your seat when reading the last few pages. so! good!

this story is kinda confusing because of how many characters have been introduced within the first 7 pages. it doesn’t help that their names are complicated too lol

second story down! i don’t think i liked this one as much as the first but i was still good! towards the end i thought i predicted all that was going to happen but then things took a sharp turn and i was surprised by the ending :)
