Anthony Cheng is on page 49 of 346 of The Chimp Paradox: How Our Impulses and Emotions Can Determine Success and Happiness and How We Can Control Them
Started this book at the end of last year and it was given to me as part of a book swap with my work bestie. I am definitely not taking this framework as gospel, but it is interesting to perceive the mindset in another way. Also, the writing is more accessible than I anticipated, although I am taking in the information slowly (but steady!).

Not as engaged by this as I thought I would be so far, but perhaps I'm not in the right frame of mind... Anyway, I will persist and see how I feel.

Continuing to annotate whilst reading, which is why this is taking slightly longer than usual to finish. A lot has happened, so I am glad I have been tracking (what I deem) important moments along the way.

Anthony Cheng is on page 122 of 352 of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter, #2)
There have been a couple of questionable descriptions and phrases spoken between characters but otherwise an enjoyable read so far. I believe this is my third time reading this book!

Halfway through "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and I am enjoying it, especially Eustace's character arc/progression. However, sometimes I find it hard to envisage the imagery of the ship or the islands encountered, as the descriptions contradict what I initially envisaged.

Despite losing interest in the last quarter of Fifty Shades of Grey, I've found myself immersed in the opening chapters of this sequel. Hopefully, the momentum keeps up!

Anthony Cheng is on page 158 of 214 of Dancing in My Nuddy-Pants (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #4)
With each book, it's become easier and easier getting into Rennison's writing style and the mind of Georgia, which is great. However, I'm not enjoying this as much as the previous novel, purely because I am itching to see a certain couple come together! I suppose it's good that Rennison is making the progression in their relationship more natural, but I'm impatient!

Anthony Cheng is on page 171 of 309 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)
Last year, I decided to re-read the series back-to-back but stopped at the sixth book after hearing Rowling's horrid statements. Since I was close to finishing, I'm attempting the series again. So far, I have enjoyed the book, although some moments could be fleshed out. Once again, I want to reiterate that I have no affiliation with Rowling and would not complete the series if the books were not already purchased.

Despite reading this before, I forgot how Green intertwines the themes of religion and existentialism so closely to the novel and its characters. I'm really enjoying the story so far and think it is far more thought provoking than "Looking for Alaska".

Anthony Cheng is on page 425 of 767 of The Chronicles of Narnia (The Chronicles of Narnia, #1-7)
Finished "Prince Caspian" and I definitely preferred it over "The Horse and His Boy". Similar to the previous books, I found it difficult to envisage some scenes, since Lewis depicts them so particularly and often goes against what I initially envisaged. Also, the language becomes much more floral when royals are speaking, which makes it harder to comprehend. Regardless, this has reinstalled my faith in the series.

Started "Prince Caspian" and I'm enjoying it far more than I expected. In my opinion, Prince Caspian has more substance here than his movie counterpart, as Lewis spends more time discussing the protagonist's childhood and backstory.

My edition has over 500 pages, in contrast to 356 pages on Goodreads, so I won't be tracking my reading pattern faithfully due to the discrepancy (not that I'm consistent with updating anyway). I believe this is my 3rd time reading the book; similar to the 13 Treasures series, I never progressed further with the story. Besides the odd word choice here and there, I'm enjoying the vaguely familiar plot line.

I wanted a pick me up, so started this book! For some reason, I've found the introduction more accessible than its predecessor (perhaps because I've become familiarised with Rennison's writing). Regardless, I've found the text incredibly funny.

Anthony Cheng is on page 317 of 767 of The Chronicles of Narnia (The Chronicles of Narnia, #1-7)
Finished “The Horse and His Boy”. I enjoyed this instalment as it shed more light on Narnia and its surrounding countries during the Pevensies’ reign. However, I found the chapter “In the House of the Tisroc” difficult to comprehend, since the writing was inundated with old English to reflect the higher socioeconomic status of the characters presented. Similar to the previous entry, the final battle felt rushed too.

Finished "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" and I'm surprised that the final battle was not fleshed out more. Also, I found it amusing how the Pevensies "liberated young dwarfs and young satyrs from being sent to school" (pg. 194), which was deemed a positive change during their reign. No school indeed!

If I didn’t have work tomorrow I would definitely continue reading until the end! In Chapter 19 (set in the Underworld), I found the oxymoron “their hollow eye sockets followed us as we walked down the hall” and description “oily voice” very striking.
