This has been a great readaloud, although it is probably better-suited to one-on-one or small group, because the stories invite lots of discussion.

It's awkward reading this highly personal book. I want to know more about the PCT, but when the author is hiking the trail the action slows to a crawl. I want relationships and interaction, but that's not what Strayed's time on the PCT is about.

I am utterly confused, and I know these characters. Maybe it's just that the story is set 40(?) years in the future, but the actions of the characters seem unexpected. The art contributes to the confusion as well, with muddy action scenes and an overabundance of panels ( as many as 8) on most pages.
