Can a book jump the shark? I think The Life We Bury may have just done so.

I am reading "Belgravia" right now (the new Julian Fellowes serial) and this book reminds me so much of that, due to the setting.

A good dose of humor and mystery in this "locked-room" mystery.

An interesting time in Britain's history...between the world wars. We've got an inside of a class-based society ("Downton Abbey", kind of), while outside swirls a general strike.

In this novel, Philadelphia is as much a character is any of the people.

What a fun and easy-to-read book. The short chapters are a boon at this busy time of year and the characters are appealing and well-written. I'm eager to learn how their lives intersect.
