Ugh! If you're going to write a book about a video game, at least play the video game. Even beyond the weird syntax caused (I suppose) by translation from Spanish to English, this book is full of strange game moves made by the characters. An extremely disappointing venture into the world of Pokémon novelization.

A wonderful book, with lots of the scenery that makes the series special. I’m glad that Ms. Hillerman has been successful in continuing her father’s creation, and building on it with a new emphasis on Officer Bernadette Manuelito!

The dates are confusing, because the ages of the characters are off by about twenty years from what make sense, but this is an interesting book and a good mystery! Starts with a bang...
