The end of book one in this multiplex of books.

Zenia has become likeable. He still making jokes.

I hadn't expected do much to happen in so few days.

As a non-believer I can see that the Orders are going to be trouble. They already come across as corrupt and set up to suck all the joy out of life...

Scene setting.

So the main characters have been set out.

Women good.
Men bad.

Inquisitor assuming guilt before investigating the alleged crime.

Inquisitor with chip on shoulder against ruling classes.

So far I have to side with the men.

Obviously in this fantasy land the idea of innocent until proven guilty is of no concern.

I can't remember what I paid for the kindle edition but it wasn't much. The book was written some 8 or 9 years ago but that hardly matters. Just saying - as the too oft used phrase goes.

Kempston Hardwick. Oh to be named after the village in the shadows of the brick works chimneys now more famous for the traveller camp nestled on Ampthill Road.

In fact Flitwick Bedford might have been an alternative or even...

I bought this book for one reason.. Kempston Hardwick.

I used to drive through the village of the same name on my way to work everyday

It's near Bedford near where the brickworks chimneys reached the sky.

Stopped soon after the first murder. Wasn't in the mood for child killing and so this book is on the back burner with the heat on very low.

I have gone back to the comforting world of Mildenheath and run of the mill serial killers....

So far so good. I was reading "Tell Me I'm Wrong" but wasn't really in the mood for child murderers.. So switched to this one that was ready and waiting on Kindle.

There is something more comforting in Knight and Culverhouse.

The premise of a cult with Waco connotations doesn't seem as nasty as some teacher killing kids.
