I really like to loose conversational style of prose. As though the author is telling you. Many travel books I have read have had authors talking down but Chris is very self deprecating.

I was hooked from the start.

So far so good. Interesting read.

I am growing to like this book. Not a loty about the bike but a good idea of the sights seen on the way across.

I assumed this was a first time travel book and the start is reasonable. Unless there are several John McKay's then the author is pretty experienced as there are loads of books by the same name. Not quite amateur hour.

The secret from the past is out and Magnus needs to lay off Harpa and investigate!!!

Anyone else siding with Harpa at this point?

Just started. Not much about the 1930's yet. All about the Icelandic banking failure.

Getting better. Still think that Lexi offed the kid.

I don't think I have read many books where the main characters are so unlikable. Josie is a total big head and know all. Archer is a plonker. When I read I visualise what the characters will look like. Josie is difficult. Tall freak with short hair. Maybe a younger Jamie Lee Curtis. Archer is Nick Nolte morphed with Denis Weaver. Still reading to see what happens. Did Lexi pull the cord and dump the kid?

Not really a page turner. I dip in to see where the bunkers are near where I am going and where I have friends!

Just set the scene. The nasty corporate lawyers versus the nasty corporate lawyers with our characters in the middke

Turmoil. Are they going to let Hannah burn?

Hotting up now Hannah has accused the dead judge as a pervert.

Story building. As yet none of the characters are in any way likeable.

Bizarre really. Would like to fit a couple into my next visit.

So far can't say that I am that enthused. Yes it is comic, but a bit too hard working to be funny. The first tale about Vic Malone far beyond parody of the gritty detective genre of the 50's.

This book is pretty much along the same lines as Jasper Fforde and Robert Rankin's earlier work.

Need to pick it up as new Kindle is calling me to the dark side!

I have it on kindle and have no real idea where I am. Louie has just arrived at his office.
