I haven't read other reviews as I like to form my own opinion of a book rather than be swayed by someone else's prejudice and opinion. From the start the premise is good. The main character, Rob, in an ordinary bloke. A heating engineer and motorcycle racer. And I do love the Isle of Man and the TT.

Another 20p Kindle buy and we'll worth it. Fast paced and the lead character is easy to relate to in the cynicism of the 21st century.

I love this story of the old man's life where he meets mostly by accident the movers and shakers of the first half of the 20th century and beyond!!

Getting started..

The story is building and the tension rising. Who could have shot the rednecks and army family?

Actually 39% The relationship between Puller and Cole is developing and begs the question what happens next... Are the murderers locals or not?

20% Still a page turner. Maybe I'm too much of a prol!

Actually 10% as it is a Kindle book. So pretty good. F I didn't have to work defo a page turner hard to put down...

Taken a long time to put progress through. Love the premise. But it is a bit too slow and I get a bit bored with the minutiae of Kate's thoughts about her mundane life. The flash backs and forward are a little confusing.

Still angry. Surely part of travelling is to witness and enjoy different experiences?

Jesus eff Christ. Why plan a trip to ride across the US, decide on which towns to stop in overnight, but don't do that extra bit of research and bone up on This book is making me angry!!!! Not the writing style as some Amazon pseudo intellectuals claim, but the messing about every night, and the blame shifting. You want to stay in the El Rancho in Gallup, then FFS stay in the El Rancho. Aaaaaaarrrrggghhhh!

Light reading. I enjoy other people's touring tales, especially when the are somewhere I'd like to go but simply can't afford. Two weeks rental of an HD is the better part of $3000. So let's read about it instead. Live life vicariously!

Actually gave up weeks ago. Will come back to it. The boring start didn't help. Maybe trying to read three one after another wasn't such a good idea.

Building up.

Starting off pretty well laying out the story ahead and introducing characters.

The Boys Own story continues to the battlefields of the Somme.

Very stilted writing and you have to smile at the propaganda language used to describe the German enemy. But for all that well worth £0.00.

All read. Not bad but ends just as it starts to hot up.

Passes the time easily enough on the train. I guess from the prose it is a book aimed at teens rather than adults.

Reading as a Kindle book and 50% through. The Karlisms come thick and fast and I can hear his monotone roundheaded chimps voice as if he was reading it out loud.

Jumps about a bit from one trip to another. Interesting but hardly makes me want to take the GS off road in these places.

Still okay and a good read. Not really selling me on the desert though. Although after hail and heavy rain today it must be better!
