Oh for goodness sake! James again?! Not Charles? And Agatha not worried about errant hairs or her makeup?
Really

Agatha really is going to give up smoking? I’m not pro smoking but I feel like Agatha really would not give up the habit /: hmmmmmm. Of this stands I am going to need to really be convinced that this change is believable.

What in the name of all that is good is this new writer doing!? James impulsively kissing Agatha outside in the forest!? What!? And Agatha estranged from Sir Charles? Blasphemy!

I know I said I don’t think I can read anything that contains violence to children right now - but this book seems more like a ghost story and my hold for it finally came in on Libby so I am giving it a go.
I am listening to this as opposed to reading it. I’m not crazy about the woman who is reading it ~ but I am just ornery right now.

I’m listening to this. I am so weird ~ I find Penelope Keith reading Agatha Raisin books to be comforting.
I know. I know.
I am almost 54 and I like watching birds now too.
I have not felt great for a couple of days and I reached out for something warm.

This is a DNF for me. It wasn’t that it was not good - but someone close to me died in early December and I am pretty sure it just hurts to read anything with the depth this book has.
*sigh*
Another reading slump and a whole lot of playing Stardew Valley Expanded.

Calling all Bosch fans! Should I read the Lincoln Lawyer books in order as they meet up with the Bosch Universe? Example: wait until Bosch book 18 to read Lincoln Lawyer 2 so that the books synch up?
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!

I’m giving the Bosch books another try.
I have to say that I am annoyed at the fact that there are at least three other series that connect to the Bosch Universe :/ The other books come in and out of Bosch’s timeline willy nilly, and one of these intersecting series I flat out don’t care for.
I’m one of those people who like to read books in order so this wicked irritates me.

DNF
It wasn’t going well up to page 15. My mom had a heart transplant and for whatever reason any books with heart transplants feel weird to me. Besides that the writing seemed awful. Not usually what you get with a Bosch book. So I looked up a few reviews and found an excellent (and hysterical) review written by Becky that convinced me not to read the rest of the novel.
Onward

Bummer if this is awful because I ordered 5 books in this series from the library

For some reason I just can’t muster the enthusiasm to open this book. August maybe isn’t the perfect time for it. The contrast of a New England winter might be the thing that I need.

Okay, so Paul is a bit stiff and awkward. A bit hard to adjust to in the beginning. You know what though? This is a good book and I think Paul is a good guy.

The underground children? :/ Naw. You cannot feed it to me like this and then make it scary. To feel real it needs to be something that every kid gets threatened with OR explain how it scared you as a kid and when it was that you found out that not all kids were threatened with it (and how it weirded you out).
I wish GR would add these “updates” to your review

Oh no.
As I was reading this book I was thinking how different Amanda seemed in this book. Then I started to get uncomfortable. “Oh no. Candice Fox is not going to start writing Amanda as a quirky Autistic character is she?” Being Autistic myself, married to an Autistic man, having two Autistic children ~ I really don’t like when a badly drawn Autistic character shows up in a book. On p. 182 - boom.
